We are a volunteer group that serves those struggling with homelessness, addiction, and mental health issues In Southern New Jersey and Philadelphia. Helping Hands Outreach Program, Inc. is an officially registered 501c3 Non-Profit Organization that operates solely on donations. All donations are tax-deductible.
Our mission is simple. We visit homeless encampments, and the streets, in an effort to build trust. Once, that trust is built, we than assist those in need with finding treatment, medical care, housing and other resources so that they can start to rebuild their lives. The team has worked very hard to break the stigmas related to our most vulnerable population. Often times, we remind people that despite their personal feelings on how people live, that is still someone's child that is suffering.
Since our formation in 2019, we have assisted hundreds of people in getting off of the streets. They are now in long-term care facilities, sober living homes or in residences of their own. We also assist in locating "Missing Persons' that are reported to us either by families, or law enforcement.
Our teams goes out several times a week to check on the homeless. We bring with us food, drinks, survival supplies and first aid supplies and render emergency care as needed. We also respond to overdoses, and other emergencies, that occur while we are out serving. When not on the street, team members attend education forums and engage in speaking engagements, as well as other community-based events.
